“There was a creepy house on Elm St that everyone said was haunted.

It was old, the windows were cracked, the door crooked on its hinges, and the paint was peeling off. The grass and shrubs were overgrown after years of neglect.

But this house wasn’t rumored to be haunted by a ghost or a demon. It was haunted by a clown. People would claim to see him in one of the windows for a split second, but then he’d be gone the moment they looked back. They would also claim to hear his maniacal laugh creep out of the house at night, sounding so near but then so far away.

You could feel the life in this house. The wind traveling between the boards of that old, cracked, wooden siding felt like someone breathing.

And then there was that hoarse, distant laughing.”
